South Temiskaming Community Futures Development Corporation works with area residents
and communities to:

Encourage and support small business.

forward looking vision and positive outlook.

Plan and facilitate action regarding changes which will affect the
region.
Our agency promotes Community Economic Development as a locally driven
process where people plan and act for the future of their area.
This
involves establishing a realistic vision and positive outlook;
identifying issues and problems and strategies to deal with them;
motivating and involving others in the community by working in
partnership and cooperation; and the recognition of volunteers and
their importance to the community.
We are a grass roots organization, employing local staff, reporting to
a volunteer Board which represents and is accountable to the
communities they serve.
Our Corporation's Board of Directors are committed stakeholders in
their communities who enjoy the quality of life here and want to
contribute to the economic and social health of our area. They
contribute considerable time and energy to working with a cross
section of other residents in their community to analyze the local
economy and look for opportunities for economic growth and enhanced
quality of life. In addition they make decisions on business
investments and community projects which will be undertaken by our
organization and other community partners.
